# Computer Asking for a BitLocker Recovery Key? Where to Find It

On another device, sign in to the Microsoft account used on that computer and look up its recovery keys; the screen shows a key ID to match. For work computers, your IT admin can find the key in Microsoft Entra or Intune.

- Write down the key ID shown on the recovery screen
- On another device, sign in at aka.ms/myrecoverykey with the Microsoft account used on the computer
- Find the key whose ID matches and type it in
- Check for a printed or saved copy, or a USB drive with the key
- For a work computer, ask your IT admin to look it up
- After unlocking, back up the key somewhere safe
