Computer Asking for a BitLocker Recovery Key? Where to Find It

Questions
Can BitLocker be bypassed without the key?
No. That’s the point of encryption; without the key, the data can’t be read.
Why did BitLocker ask for the key out of nowhere?
A firmware update or hardware change made Windows unsure the computer was unchanged, so it asked for proof.
