Describe the software you need

Write it the way you’d explain it to a friend. These help us understand it faster, but answer only what you know:

  • What problem it should solve, and what happens today instead (paper, a spreadsheet, an old program)
  • Who will use it (you, your staff, your customers or the public) and roughly how many people
  • What it should do, step by step, the way you’d explain it to a new employee
  • Where it should run: Windows, Mac, iPhone, Android, a web browser or a touchscreen
  • What it needs to connect to, like QuickBooks, Shopify, Google Sheets, your website or a machine
  • Anything you already have: notes, sketches, screenshots of apps you like, a spreadsheet
  • Your budget and timeline, if you know them. “Not sure” is a fine answer.

Any kind of software

Each type links to the details, examples and starting prices. Something not on the list? Ask anyway.

Desktop apps for Windows & Mac

Programs that install on a PC or Mac and work offline: batch tools, editors, data entry, kiosk screens and simple large-print apps for family members.

Web apps & SaaS

Software people use in a browser, with sign-in, roles and payments: one internal tool, or a product you sell by subscription.

iPhone & Android apps

Apps for your customers or your crew, in the app stores or installed straight from your website.

Internal tools & dashboards

Replace the spreadsheet everyone fights over: job tracking, approvals, inventory and live numbers on one screen.

Customer, dealer & staff portals

A private place to sign in for orders, documents, invoices, training or support.

Automations

Work that happens by itself: data moved between systems, documents filled in, reports sent and reminders texted.

Integrations & APIs

Connect the software you already pay for, or give your own system an API others can use.

AI assistants & AI features

An assistant that answers from your own documents, AI inside your app, or agents that handle routine steps while people approve.

Private AI on your hardware

Open models on your own computer or server, so sensitive data never leaves the building.

Kiosks & touchscreens

Self-service screens for ordering, check-in, payments, registration and time clocks.

Manufacturing & shop floor

Scheduling, work instructions, quality, traceability and live machine data.

Field service & dispatch

Jobs, crews, routes and work orders, from the office and from the truck.

Booking, ordering & payments

Online booking, ordering and payment flows built around how you actually work.

Data, reports & analytics

Reports that build themselves, data combined and cleaned from every system, and dashboards for the numbers that matter.

Texting, chat & chatbots

Text-message systems, website chat and AI chatbots that answer customers and hand off to your team.

Calculators & quote tools

Price builders, engineering calculators and quoting tools for your website or your team.

Town, school & nonprofit portals

Permit applications, records requests, courses and member systems.

Video, photo & media tools

Batch editing, templates, automatic versions for every channel and searchable media libraries.

Plugins, extensions & add-ins

Add what’s missing to software you already use: browser extensions, Office add-ins, WordPress plugins and Shopify apps.

Games & interactive experiences

Simple games and interactive pieces for an event, a trade-show booth, a classroom or a brand, on a screen, a kiosk or the web.

Fix or finish existing software

A project someone else started, an AI-built prototype that broke, or an old program nobody can update.

What people ask us to build

Requests like these, in plain words, are all it takes to start.

  • “An app that shows which customers owe us money and texts them a polite reminder.”
  • “A Windows program that renames our scanned invoices and files them in the right folders.”
  • “A portal where our dealers sign in, see their own prices and place orders.”
  • “An app for our crews to clock in, see today’s jobs and upload photos from their phones.”
  • “One dashboard with our Shopify, Square and QuickBooks numbers, updated every morning.”
  • “A touchscreen at the front desk where visitors check in and print a badge.”
  • “A tool that reads supplier PDFs and fills in our order spreadsheet.”
  • “A private assistant that answers staff questions from our manuals without sending anything to the cloud.”
  • “A Mac app that resizes and watermarks hundreds of product photos at once.”
  • “Our old Access database rebuilt as a web app the whole team can use.”
  • “A quote calculator on our website that gives customers a price in a minute.”
  • “A simple game for our trade-show booth that runs on a big touchscreen.”

Questions

Do I need to know the technical terms?

No. Describe it the way you’d explain it to a friend: what bugs you today and what you wish happened instead. Working out the right technology is our job.

What kinds of software can you build?

Desktop apps for Windows and Mac, web apps, iPhone and Android apps, portals, dashboards, automations, integrations, AI assistants, kiosk software, plugins and games. If it can be built, we’ll tell you how and what it would take.

How much does custom software cost?

It depends on what it does. Small automations start at a few hundred dollars, internal tools and portals at a few thousand, and full apps and platforms more. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no hourly surprises.

How long does it take?

Small tools and automations often take days. Most apps and portals take one to four weeks. Bigger platforms take longer, and we build them in stages so you can use the first useful version early.

Who owns the software?

You do. The code, the data and the accounts are yours, and you can take them to another developer at any time.

Will you sign an NDA?

Yes. We can sign a mutual NDA before you share the details, and we treat every request as confidential either way.

Can you fix or finish software someone else built?

Yes. We take over half-finished projects, AI-built prototypes that stopped working and old programs nobody can update. We start with an honest review of what to keep and what to rebuild.

Can I sell the software you build for me?

Yes. You own it, so you can sell it, license it or build a business on it. We can also set up payments, licensing and app store listings.

What happens after launch?

You can run it yourself with the documentation we hand over, or keep us on a care plan for updates, hosting, backups and new features.

Do you only work with businesses?

Most projects are for businesses, but schools, nonprofits, towns and individuals ask too. Wisconsin is home, and we build for clients nationwide.

Ready when you are

Your idea, in your words. We take it from there.
