“DMARC Policy Not Enabled” Warning? How to Fix It Without Blocking Your Own Email
The warning means your domain has no DMARC record, or one set to monitor only (p=none). Publish a DMARC record with reporting, make sure every service that sends as your domain passes SPF or DKIM in alignment, then step the policy up to quarantine and reject.

Try this first
- Look up your domain’s DMARC record with a free checker
- List every service that sends email as your domain
- Set up DKIM for each sender
- Publish a DMARC record with p=none and a reporting address
- Read the reports for two to four weeks and fix any failing senders
- Move to p=quarantine, then p=reject
When it’s more than a quick fix
If the reports don’t make clear which senders are legitimate, moving to reject too early can block your own invoices and newsletters.

Questions
Is p=none enough?
It meets the minimum for bulk-sender rules, but it doesn’t stop anyone from spoofing your domain. Enforcement does.
What does a DMARC record look like?
A TXT record at _dmarc.yourdomain.com, such as “v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:reports@yourdomain.com”.
