How to Recover Deleted Emails in Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace
Check Deleted Items or Trash first, then use Outlook’s “Recover deleted items,” which keeps mail for a limited time after it’s emptied. Admins can sometimes restore more, and a backup can restore anything older.

Questions
How long does Microsoft 365 keep deleted emails?
By default, items emptied from Deleted Items stay recoverable for a limited time, typically about 14 days, longer if retention is set.
Doesn’t Microsoft or Google back up my email?
They keep it available, but they don’t keep long-term backups of what you delete. A separate backup covers that.
