Automation: Describe a Film in One File, or Let Your Assistant Drive
The future of production is one person directing a whole pipeline while software does the busywork. Movie Maker is built that way: anything you can click, a script or an AI assistant you run yourself can do, and every creative decision still waits for your approval.
What you can do
One file, one film
Describe the cast, sets, lines, music and look in a .film.json file and Movie Maker builds the film. Run it again and unchanged scenes are reused.
Inbox and Outbox folders
Drop a film spec, scene or command file in the Inbox folder and the app picks it up; results land in the Outbox.
A lever for every button
Everything the app does is reachable from code through one scripting interface, with a built-in list of every lever.
People stay in charge
Automated work is ordinary project data you can open and change. Your own edits are never overwritten, and versions are kept.
Production playbooks
The Director turns a style into a 14-stage plan with checkpoints only a person can approve.
Nothing phones home
The studio itself never uses the internet, so your projects and media stay on your computer.
Questions
Is there AI inside Movie Maker?
No. The studio itself contains no AI and makes no online calls. It is built so that scripts, or an AI assistant you choose to run, can drive it the way a person would.
