Movie Maker Hollywood Pro · Video Editor
A Timeline Video Editor With Frame-Exact Export
The Edit tab is where a film comes together: a multi-track timeline with the moves professional editors use, color tools, a real audio mixer and an export that renders every frame exactly, even with the window in the background.
What you can do
Multi-track timeline
Video, audio and title tracks with insert, overwrite, lift, extract, ripple delete, close gap, copy, paste and duplicate.
Sequences you can nest
Keep several edits in one project as tabs above the timeline, and drop one sequence into another, up to six levels deep.
Keyframes with real curves
Animate position, scale, rotation, opacity and more with linear, hold, ease and Bezier keyframes.
Color tools
Curves, hue and saturation, a qualifier for changing one color, and scopes to check your levels.
A real audio mixer
Tracks route to dialogue, music and effects buses with EQ, compressor, pan, limiter and reverb.
Loudness for every platform
Measure loudness the broadcast way (ITU-R BS.1770) and normalize to −23 LUFS for TV or −16 and −14 LUFS for the web.
Frame-exact export
MP4 (H.264 and AAC) or WebM, rendered frame by frame so the file matches the preview, at full speed in the background.
Image sequences and stems
PNG sequences with transparency, WAV audio at 16, 24 or 32 bits, and one file per track or bus.
Works with other editors
Send your cut to other software as EDL, FCPXML or OpenTimelineIO, and bring OpenTimelineIO edits back in.
How it works
- 1
Bring in your media
Video, audio, photos and numbered image sequences, with their transparency.
- 2
Cut on the timeline
Trim, ripple and arrange clips, add titles and transitions, and keyframe anything that moves.
- 3
Color and mix
Match shots with curves, then balance dialogue, music and effects and set the loudness.
- 4
Export
Choose the range and where to save. Every export ends in a Save dialog and is checked after saving.
Questions
Can I use other programs while it exports?
Yes. Exports keep rendering at full speed when the window is in the background or minimized.
Can an export get lost?
Every export ends with a Save dialog and the file is checked after it’s written. An export that wasn’t saved stays in memory with a reminder until you save it.
Can I open my edit in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve?
Send the cut as EDL, FCPXML or OpenTimelineIO. Cuts, speed changes, titles and dissolves carry over; effects and color stay in Movie Maker.
